Restore exists to empower people to reproduce church and recreate community wherever we are.
When Jesus began his public ministry on earth in Luke 4:18-19, he quoted some verses from Isaiah 61, which are core to our purpose at Restore:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour”
We believe that God has called his church to be “good news” to the community, by living out a life of love, generosity, and acceptance. To this end, we seek to encourage, equip and empower every person to live out what it means to be a follower of Jesus in their everyday life. We dream of seeing many expressions of church impacting different locations and sectors of society, and creating communities that bring healing, restoration and transformation.
We have discovered that faith is a life-long journey of growing in God and work to help everyone to grow through 4 stages:
Know God – understanding God’s character and nature and discovering just how much he loves us and wants to be involved in every area of our lives.
Find Freedom – discovering our true identity, that each of us is hand-crafted by God, and that our failures and vulnerabilities can be forgiven and healed so that we experience a life of healing and wholeness.
Discover Purpose – each of us are shaped with a unique character, personality, gifts and abilities that are God-given and that we are created to know and use to live life to the full.
Make A Difference – we are all created with a purpose to carry and share God’s love with those around us, in our families, relationships, workplaces and communities where we live. Our deepest sense of fulfilment comes from knowing that our lives count and are significant in touching the lives of others.
